Considered the friendliest destination in the world, Puerto Vallarta has the largest bay in Mexico. The Malecón offers endless restaurants, bars, tequila bars, regional art, culture and entertainment.
Plenty of shops to see. Avoid the street vendors. Great restaurants along the way. Friendly people everywhere. Beautiful statues everywhere.
The malecón is an amazing mixture of beautiful views and excellent service. It takes around an hour to walk the entire malecón and you can literally stop anywhere. There’s restaurants, food stands, souvenir stores and coffee shops. There’s a starbucks, but I would suggest trying one of their local coffee places. In the middle of the malecón where the river is, you can go down the stairs and there’s a local market with all kinds of stuff.
While foot traffic is extremely down we felt very secured shopping along the malecon boardwalk. Stores would require the use of mask and greeted you with hand sanitizer. Good for everyone. Thank you shop owners for your efforts.
